Stephen Warre-Smith summarises paper “Exposed core microstructured optical fiber Bragg gratings: refractive index sensing”

Feb2012IPAS015

We have found a way to put holes that are so tiny that you cannot even see them into long threads of glass known as optical fibres. We will later use these to measure medical conditions in people and we are particularly interested in working out why some women are not able to become pregnant. Please read the full paper for further information.
