Tanya Monro elected Chair of the Optical Fibre Group of the Optical Society of America

Congratulations to Tanya for being elected Chair of the Fiber Optics Technology Technical Group in the Photonics and Opto-Electronics Division of the OSA !

The Photonics and Opto-Electronics Division encompasses the development of many of the devices used by the optics community. It oversees the development of new device technologies, integration of optical components to perform various functions, development of active optical system/subsystem technologies including hardware, propagation considerations, and beam manipulation techniques.

Tanya will preside over the Fiber Optics Technology group which focuses on all fiber developments.
This role entails developing a sense of community among those with similar interests and organising OSA technical meetings and workshops.
